Railtrain often participate in provincial social programs in addition to supporting local community activities and teams. Here are some of our contributions below:
Australia's Biggest Morning Tea
Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is Cancer Council Australia’s most popular fundraising event and the largest, most successful event of its kind in Australia.
White Ribbon
White Ribbon is a part of a global social movement working to eliminate gendered violence. We strive for an Australian society where all women and children are safe.
White Ribbon is the world’s largest movement engaging men and boys to end men’s violence against women and girls, promote gender equality and create new opportunities for men to build positive, healthy and respectful relationships.
The White Ribbon movement works through a primary prevention approach in communities, schools and workplaces across the country. Through our programs and campaigns, we engage with men to become active in the social change needed to stop men’s violence against women and children.
The Janine Chalwell Grant
The Janine Chalwell Grant – a foundation on a mission is to save and celebrate life and defeat Melanoma by funding cutting edge research, working with Spinnaker Health Research Foundation , an independent charitable trust, committed to the funding of medical research in Western Australia.
The Janine Chalwell Grant will fund exceptional research into the cause, treatment and cure of Melanoma. Aiming to $1,000,000 by 2024, with all funds raised being returned directly to research in WA, also allocate a percentage of funds to the research of other cancers of unmet needs. Western Australian Railways Institute
WARI is an organisation dedicated to providing leisure and lifestyle products and services to employees within the railway industry at discount rates to assist member’s to enjoy a quality lifestyle and experience all that life has to offer.
Australia Red Cross Donors
Red25 is a life-saving social responsibility program where workplaces, community groups, and universities around Australia unite to safe lives through blood donation. Together, Red25 members work towards ensuring that 25% of Australians blood donations are secured.
One donation can save up to three lives? Since 2011, Railtrain’s ClubRed25 has saved 600 + lives! We welcome friends, family and staff to join us in supporting this worthy cause. Contact our Red25 Coordinator amanda-lee@railtrain.com.au to join our club.
Containers for Change
Railtrain save and return all eligible containers through Containers for Change, helping to protect our environment, create jobs and support local communities. All funds earned from the returned containers are donated to charity. Last year Railtrain donated to White Ribbon, combining our Containers for Change earnings with the funds earned from gold coin donations contributed by our staff on Casual Fridays.
Boobalicious Ball, Breast Cancer Care WA
As a Corporate Sponsor for the 2021 Boobalicious Ball, Railtrain Holdings Group played a part in raising $339,520 for Breast Cancer Care WA. Breast Cancer Care WA receives no recurrent government funding, relying solely on the generosity of the Western Australian community to fund the provision of emotional, practical and financial support to the many West Australian women and their families living with a diagnosis of breast cancer.
Carbon Positive Australia
As an alternative to mailing paper Christmas cards to our valued customers and suppliers, Railtrain Holdings Group partnered with Carbon Positive Australia during the Christmas period, sending e-cards and establishing a tree in regional Australia on the recipient’s behalf which will result in the planting of 110 trees.
This initiative funds planting projects across Australia, planting native trees and shrubs on degraded land. Each species planted is specially chosen to be appropriate for the land they are planting on.
