How Government Funding Works
Government funding helps subsidise the cost of nationally recognised training for eligible learners either partially or fully.
Each state operates its own funding programs with different eligibility requirements, fee structures and evidence obligations. While the aim is the same, supporting industry skills and workforce development, the details vary depending on where you are located.
Across all states:
- Funding can significantly reduce or remove student fees.
- Eligibility depends on residency, employment status, citizenship and other criteria.
- Learners must provide supporting evidence (e.g., ID, concession cards, employer details).
- Some programs are aimed at priority industries or high-demand job roles.

New South Wales (NSW)
Railtrain is approved to deliver the Targeted Priorities Pre-vocational Part Qualifications program under the NSW Smart and Skilled Government Initiative.
