Gary McLaughlin

Chief Executive Officer

Gary McLaughlin has over 25 years extensive knowledge and experience in construction, infrastructure and utilities industries including sixteen years at senior management levels in both bid management and project execution.  Gary is accomplished in business transformation, creating operational initiatives and driving strategic business goals to support sustainable growth. Gary has spent over a decade in senior executive roles for some of Australia’s largest Infrastructure organisations.

Gary displays a collaborative leadership style that has enabled him to build a strong reputation within the infrastructure sector, leading tenders and delivery on major heavy haul and urban electrified rail projects in both the UK and Australia.

As CEO, Gary leads the organisation to achieve the strategic objectives set out within the strategic plan. Translating strategic actions into annual business plans with clear Key Performance Indicators for all staff.

By providing a strong focus on our Safety Culture, Governance and accountability to stakeholders, Gary drives the organisation to achieve strong operational performance with a focus on enhancing the organisations reputation within the rail sector.

Gary is passionate about workforce safety and workforce engagement to ensure not only a highly motivated team but a productive team as well. As well as his hands on practical experience Gary holds a BSc in civil engineering.

Nike Gozali

Executive General Manager – Finance

Nike Gozali is an experienced senior executive with more than 20 years finance and operational experience across education, mining, service and construction industries.

Prior to joining RHG, Nike was a National Finance Manager for a major integrated service provider where she was instrumental in setting up new business units across the Western Australia region and transforming its finance functions from a privately held organisation to a publicly listed company. Nike has extensive experience in successful contract negotiations and tender submissions to major mining companies.

Nike holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance), Master of Commerce (Distinction), is a Fellow CPA and a Graduate of Australian Institute of Company Director (GAICD). She also provides her finance expertise in a volunteer capacity as Treasurer in a school’s Council.

Robert Arnott

Executive General Manager – Business Development and Strategy

Rob is a Chartered Engineer with over two decades of experience across the rail and infrastructure sectors. He brings a strong combination of technical expertise, operational leadership and strategic capability to his role.

Rob has delivered complex rail infrastructure projects across Australia and internationally, including heavy haul and passenger networks. He has held senior roles in project management, construction and operations, with a focus on safe, efficient and high-quality outcomes.

His experience spans business development, commercial management and strategic planning, with a proven ability to align growth opportunities to operational capability. Rob is also skilled in stakeholder engagement, governance and risk management, supporting sustainable business performance.

Chris Elston

Executive General Manager Corporate Services

Chris Elston has over 35 years’ experience as a senior Executive HR/OD professional across six Industry Sectors with an emphasis on strategic organisational and transformational change underpinned by a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Australian IR system. Chris has a firm grounding in the fundamentals of HR which has positioned him to be able to bring about an alignment between business strategies and working practices.

Intertwined with his practical hands-on experience Chris holds a Masters in Business Administration (Distinction), Graduate Diploma in Industrial Relations, Bachelor of Business (Management) and a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.

Simon Hughes

Executive General Manager – Operations

Simon has over three decades of experience in the rail industry, with a strong background across track construction, maintenance and major infrastructure delivery. His career spans the UK and Australia, where he has worked across all aspects of rail operations, from frontline delivery through to senior leadership roles.

Simon brings extensive expertise in mechanised track construction, maintenance programs and complex project delivery across freight and passenger networks. He has successfully led large-scale rail projects, including ballast cleaning, renewals and track construction works, while driving strong safety, quality and operational outcomes.

His experience includes business development, strategic planning and the introduction of specialised rail plant and technologies to support major project delivery. Simon is recognised for his practical knowledge of rail systems, strong operational leadership and commitment to delivering efficient, high-quality outcomes for clients.

With a civil engineering background and a long-standing career in rail, Simon continues to play a key role in strengthening capability and delivering major rail infrastructure projects nationally.

Chris Logan

Executive General Manager – Health, Safety, Environment and Wellbeing – HSEW

Chris Logan has more than 25 years of expertise as a Senior Health, Safety, Environment, and Wellbeing Professional working in executive management capacities both internationally and across Australia.

Chris has extensive specialist rail construction, maintenance, and operational experience, along with a track record of contributions to some of the country’s largest rail infrastructure projects.

With a solid foundation of formal qualifications in safety, environment, quality, and business, Chris possesses a unique blend of technical knowledge and business acumen. Leveraging his extensive industry networks and wealth of experience, Chris excels at navigating complex challenges and delivering effective and sustainable solutions.

Sharon Morris

General Manager – Training

Sharon Morris is an accomplished training professional with over 25 years’ experience within the rail industry.  Throughout her career, Sharon has held prominent positions within John Holland and has spent the last 6 years in the dual role of Business Support Manager and Training Consultant, delivering value add services to numerous Tier 1 Contractors and Rail Infrastructure Managers across Australia.

As a previous winner of the Outstanding Achievement in Safety Award from the National Association of Woman in Construction, Sharon is passionate about safety, compliance and achieving outstanding service offerings to clients and the industry.

Her experience and in-depth knowledge of railway competency management are leveraged to design, develop and deliver customised training solutions for clients ensuring efficiency, compliance and flexible outcomes.

With a strong background in Human Resources, Quality, Safety, and Rail Safety, Sharon has a proven track record of team engagement to achieve exceptional business results.

Philip Mullard

Executive General Manager – Commercial

Philip Mullard is an experienced senior executive with more than 30 years Commercial, Financial and Operational experience across the transport, mining, rail and logistics industries. His experience includes roles in international “blue chip” companies and significant publicly listed and private held Australian based businesses.

Philip has spent the last ten years in a number of senior roles with one of Australia’s major rail freight providers dramatically improving operational performance and delivering commercial solutions, negotiating multi-million dollar contracts to secure business growth. Prior to this he was the Chief Financial Officer for a privately held workforce service provider responsible for a number of acquisitions and the successful trade sale of the company.

Philip is passionate about safety and has a proven commercial focus to help guide business success. He is accomplished in managing organizational change and skilled in building cross-functional teams to improve and maintain business performance.
