It’s been a lifelong career dream and a goal to be working with trains. When I got the call that I was successful in a Shunters trainee position with Rail Operations at FMG, I was kind of nervous and starting to stress, but I was happy to have this opportunity at any age - even if it meant starting as a trainee.
I enjoyed Troy’s extensive knowledge in both shunting and loco driving - he always had a good yarn to go with many of his examples and his experiences. Also, the transition from the theory in the classroom to the practical hands on in the field was smooth and easy with Troy’s guidance.
I would recommend Troy and the team from Railtrain to train any company’s Shunters, as my experience was both informative and enjoyable.
Nationally Recognised Training
We have utilised the training services of Railtrain Pty Ltd for a period of approximately two years. During this time, a significant amount of my staff, including management staff, have attended the training for the purposes of obtaining rail accreditation. We have always found that all training undertaken has been presented in a very timely, professional and courteous manner. At a management level, I have always found Railtrain to be extremely friendly, efficient and professional, providing assistance or advice with any rail matter.
We wish Juanita and Railtrain’s training team all the very best and congratulate all staff on their professional and courteous approach. We continue to recommend Railtrain Pty Ltd (Training) to other businesses and organisations.
We were recommended to Railtrain by several employees from the Perth Transport Authority for our company to gain track accreditation training.
The whole experience start to finish was a please. The training was excellent and very informative, and dealt with all the aspects of working on track, with safety being one of their main priorities.
Eaton Industries will be using Railtrain again in the near future and would have no hesitation to recommend them.
“I would really like to thank you Jae for the effort and time you and Troy have put in to get us to where we are this past year”.
The only way this training could be improved would be to have more of this type of training for more people.
“In the last eighteen months I have had the pleasure of dealing with the staff at Railtrain Pty Ltd to develop and deliver TLI32511 Certificate III in Rail Infrastructure training to our track maintenance personnel.
During this time, the level of service and assistance with the peripheral aspects of developing the program we have received has been absolutely exemplary.
The content and delivery aspect of the program provided by Railtrain has been of the highest standard and nothing but positive feedback has been received from our personnel that attended the program.
I thank the staff at Railtrain on behalf of BHP Billiton Iron Ore for their patience, professionalism and persistence in ensuring that this training program has resulted a successful outcome for all involved.
I highly recommend Railtrain Pty Ltd to any business that may wish to develop and deliver training of this type in the future”.
Railtrain were only too happy to send one of their very experienced rail trainers up to Port Hedland from Perth to help with our “Tracks to Success” Cert II & III rail operations trainees. The logistics and cost to send eight young, locals to Perth for several weeks would have been great and a very difficult exercise for the trainees. So "Railtrains willingness" to send a trainer to site was very well received from all parties involved, BHP Billiton, the trainees, their families and Apprenticeships Australia.
RMC Track Protection
A big thanks from Brookfield Rail for the effort and professionalism displayed on the recent Bonnie Vale MLK upgrade works.
Unfortunately the schedule work suffered a number of setbacks which extended the commissioning duration well beyond that planned this in turn extended the need for the Railtrain team to control trains and provide safe working.
The Railtrain team took pressure off the commissioning group by ensuring rail traffic continued with minimum disruption thus removing a major concern for the UGL / Brookfield team and allowing them to address the technical issues at hand knowing train movements and safe working was under control.
