Fabian Conway – Trainee @ FMG

It’s been a lifelong career dream and a goal to be working with trains. When I got the call that I was successful in a Shunters trainee position with Rail Operations at FMG, I was kind of nervous and starting to stress, but I was happy to have this opportunity at any age – even if it meant starting as a trainee.

I enjoyed Troy’s extensive knowledge in both shunting and loco driving – he always had a good yarn to go with many of his examples and his experiences. Also, the transition from the theory in the classroom to the practical hands on in the field was smooth and easy with Troy’s guidance.

I would recommend Troy and the team from Railtrain to train any company’s Shunters, as my experience was both informative and enjoyable.
