David Irwin

David Irwin has held senior management positions with Pacific National, Asciano, Port Waratah Coal Services (PWCS), and Rio Tinto during a resources and logistics career extending over 30 years.

David played a key role on the Executive Committee of the publicly listed Asciano Group of Companies whilst leading the Pacific National business as CEO. He successfully completed the separation and sale/takeover of Asciano companies, seeing Pacific National become a standalone rail company privately owned by seven international infrastructure investment funds. David then continued as CEO of Pacific National for the first year of operation under its new Ownership Structure as a private company.

David has extensive experience in safety leadership in high exposure industries, commercial negotiations and financial discipline, acquisition and sale transactions, government, Investor and industrial relations, debt portfolio management and team leadership.
